Safetyandsecurity
TheoverallhealthandsafetyofthestudentsofLakeSuperiorStateUniversityisthemainconcernofthe PublicSafetyDepartment.ThisdepartmentworkscloselywiththeCampusLifeOffice,aswellastheTitleIXOffice,toensurethesafetyofstudents,faculty,staff,andvisitors.Themajorityofourlivingcentersfeaturecardaccesssecurity.
TheLakeSuperiorStateUniversityCampusPublicSafetyDepartmentislocatedonthefirstflooroftheAdministrationBuildingonthecampusofLSSU.PublicSafetyOfficersareonduty24hoursaday,sevendaysaweek,365daysayear.Thedepartmentisstaffedbyfull-timeofficersandstudentofficers.
On-campushousingisrequiredforallstudentswithin27monthsofhighschoolgraduation.
