Memberships and Daily Use Fees
There are a number of memberships made available that the public may make use of the Norris Center for a nominal fee.
The fees below will be implemented July 1, 2021. Current membership rates and day use fees will run through June 30, 2021.
Students and Faculty/Staff
Students and Faculty/Staff are given free admittance to the Norris Center with their LSSU issued I.D.
This benefit includes access to the Norris Center Complex (Norris Center Pool, Public Fitness/Weight Room, Climbing Wall, and day use lockers). These areas are available for use during scheduled operating hours of the James Norris Center, unless areas have been assigned/reserved for other functions by the Norris Facility Manager.
Students and Faculty/Staff also receive 50% of Student Activity Center court, racquetball, and batting cage rentals.
Retired LSSU Staff
Retired LSSU Faculty/Staff are given free admittance to the Norris Center with their LSSU issued I.D. This benefit includes access to the Norris Center Complex (Norris Center Pool, Public Fitness/Weight Room, Climbing Wall, and day use lockers). These areas are available for use during scheduled operating hours of the James Norris Center, unless areas have been assigned/reserved for other functions by the Norris Facility Manager.
Retired LSSU Faculty/Staff also receive 50% of Student Activity Center court, racquetball, and batting cage rentals.
Families, Adults, and Young Adults
Memberships for Families, Married Couples, Single adults, and Juniors (14 -18 years of age) are available for the Norris Events Center and include access to the Norris Center Complex (Norris Center Pool, Public Fitness/Weight Room, Climbing Wall, and day use lockers). These areas are available for use during scheduled operating hours of the James Norris Center, unless areas have been assigned/reserved for other functions by the Norris Facility Manager.

Alumni
Memberships for dues paying alumni are available for the Norris Events Center and include access to the Norris Center Complex (Norris Center Pool, Public Fitness/Weight Room, Climbing Wall, and day use lockers). These areas are available for use during scheduled operating hours of the James Norris Center, unless areas have been assigned/reserved for other functions by the Norris Facility Manager.

Membership packages are available for Senior Citizens 60 years and older at a reduced rate than the above packages. Memberships include access to the Norris Center Complex (Norris Center Pool, Public Fitness/Weight Room, Climbing Wall, and day use lockers). These areas are available for use during scheduled operating hours of the James Norris Center, unless areas have been assigned/reserved for other functions by the Norris Facility Manager.
Members also receive 50% of Student Activity Center court, racquetball, and batting cage rentals.

Government Employee
Discounted memberships for active and retired military, law enforcement, and first responders, and all other government employees are available and include access throughout the Norris Events Center including the Student Activity Center, Multi-Purpose Courts, Public Fitness/Weight Room, Climbing Wall, Racquetball Courts, Pool, locker rooms and day use lockers.

* All participants must be current employees (or dependent if applicable) of the company initiating a corporate purchase. Rates and discounts based on the regular membership rates.
Each business must designate a company liaison for general communication purposes.
All corporate memberships are annual and must be purchased at one time through the employee’s organization. Shorter term memberships may be purchased at the discount rate set with initial corporate purchase (additional ‘mid-year’ membership purchases will not increase the discount rate). Additional purchases must be approved by both the company liaison and University Recreation.
Current members must honor their active membership before becoming eligible to purchase a corporate rate.
Corporate memberships are non-refundable.
Membership Cancellation and Refund Policy
You may cancel your membership within three business days of your join date and receive a full refund. After that, a 30 day notice must be given in order to cancel. Please see below for information regarding general membership cancellation policies.
- If a member fails to abide by the policies outlined in the Membership User Agreement/Waiver, their membership may be suspended or cancelled by management.
- Advanced notice must be given for all membership cancellations.
- Membership cards must be surrendered to the Norris Guest Information Desk prior to approval of the membership cancellation.
Refunds for Membership Fees require the approval of the Membership Services Coordinator. The following are reasons for permitting membership fee refunds:
- Relocation outside of Chippewa County
- Must be able to provide proof of relocation (a utility bill, a new lease/mortgage, or other evidence of relocation)
- Personal Health Reasons
- Must provide a letter that is signed and dated by your primary doctor/physician’s on their letterhead that specifically states you are unable to use our facility for remainder of your membership term
- Family Health Reasons (disability or death)
- Exceptions: hardship and special circumstances require the prior approval of the Associate Director of University Recreation
