Why Study the LSSU Fire Science BS?

The LSSU Bachelors of Science in Fire Science-Non Cert was developed for students currently working for Federal, State and Local governments as well as private sector companies. The course of study is designed to provide the theoretical knowledge with practical learning. The BS Fire Science Non Cert degree allows currently employed students to achieve their BS degree via distance. Additionally, non-employed students who do not want to be an active duty fire fighter or may have a disability that would prevent them from being a Fire Fighter but want to work in the field. These students have a career focused of Code Enforcement, Arson Investigator, Insurance Investigator, industrial Fire supervisor/manager, Emergency Manager and many other employment options. The University houses the Fire Fighter Regional Training Center which allows out students access to greater more advanced firefighting training.
