About the College

Become a leader through unparalleled learning experiences at LSSU. The College of Great Lakes Ecology and Education supports internationally recognized programs that leverage our unique location at the heart of the upper Great Lakes.

With 20% of the world’s fresh water in our backyard, students build connections to natural, cultural, and socioeconomic assets unique to our region.

Our students learn about these resources while surrounded by forests, rivers, lakes, and wetlands. We are training the next generation of leaders to be stewards of our unique Great Lakes resources through innovation and sustainability.

Our students gain an appreciation for this place—the Great Lakes basin—and carry that forward in their careers as resource managers, scientists, and teachers.
