The LSSU campus will operate on limited power for infrastructure upgrades as part of the cable replacement plan that was announced in October 2017.  The scheduled outage will begin the morning of Monday, May 7 and will run throughout the week.  Full power is expected to be restored by Sunday, May 13.

University operations will continue as many buildings will still have electrical power including Fletcher, East Hall (Superior Start), and CANUSA.  Backup generators will be running in Considine Hall, KJS Library, and Crawford Hall, while temporary power will be supplied to two housing areas.

During the power shutdown, crews will be replacing about 20 percent of LSSU’s underground high-powered electrical cables, performing maintenance on electrical transformers and switching gear, and working on the steam plant.  The electrical upgrades coincide the LSSU’s annually-scheduled central heat plant shutdown.

The Norris Center and the Center for Applied Science and Engineering Technology (CASET) will be closed throughout the week.
