LAW ENFORCEMENT GRADS – Lake Superior State University’s Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) law enforcement academy is the biggest in more than 20 years. Anyone wishing to become a police officer in Michigan must first be certified through MCOLES. LSSU works with the agency to provide annual academies on campus. At the end of the police academy, cadets must complete a physical fitness test and written exam before receiving MCOLES accreditation. This year’s graduates are from all over the state and have job offers from at least four cities and five counties throughout Michigan. (LSSU/John Shibley)
