CHAMBER ACHIEVER – Graduating Lake Superior State University student Karly VanderMolen (center) of Schoolcraft, Mich., receives the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce Achievement Award during the annual Lukenda School of Business recognition dinner held April 28 in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. The Chamber award is presented each year to an outstanding senior and is one of the highest honors an LSSU business student can receive. Presenting the award is LSSU business professor Jody Rebek and Chamber Executive Director Tony Haller. VanderMolen is completing a 150 credit-hour baccalaureate in accounting with a second major in business administration-management.  (LSSU/John Shibley)

BEST BACCALAUREATE – Lake Superior State University student Kellie Johnson of Irons, Mich., accepts the Lukenda School of Business Outstanding Baccalaureate Student Award from accounting professor Mindy McCready during the annual graduation dinner held April 28 in Sault Ste. HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTEES – Lake Superior State University’s Lukenda School of Business inducted four students into the international business honor society Delta Mu Delta during an annual recognition evening held April 28 in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Delta Mu Delta has more than 200 chapters worldwide, with 150,000-plus members. Inductees must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 and be in the top 20% of their class. The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), from which LSSU’s business program earns accreditation, also recognizes the honor society. BEST REGIONAL – Lake Superior State University student Diane Pascoe of Escanaba, Mich., receives the LSSU Lukenda School of Business Outstanding Transfer Student Award from LSSU Escanaba Regional Center professor Susan Beckon during a recognition ceremony in Sault Ste. Marie on April 28. The annual honor is given to a graduating senior who transferred into LSSU’s business program. It is based upon a professor poll and best overall grade point average. Pascoe completes her business administration degree with a minor in marketing through LSSU’s regional center at Bay College in Escanaba. (LSSU/John Shibley)
