Penske executive on campus for School of Business alumni award

Lake Superior State University’s Lukenda School of Business is presenting Bud Denker its 2018 Distinguished Alumnus this weekend. Leading up to the honor, Denker will be on LSSU’s main campus at 11 a.m., Friday, April 27, for a short presentation and reception in R.W. Considine Hall.

Denker is president of Penske Corporation, a global transportation services company. He is also executive vice president of human resources for the Penske Automotive Group, which includes associates across 370 globally-located automotive dealerships and heavy-duty truck locations. Denker is vice president of Penske Performance as well, a unit that oversees teams competing in the Verizon IndyCar Series, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR XFINITY Series and WeatherTech SportsCar Series under the “Team Penske” banner. Team Penske is one of the most successful teams in the history of professional sports.

Denker earned an undergraduate degree in management from Lake Superior State University and later completed his graduate studies at Western Michigan University, receiving a Master’s degree in marketing.

Bud Denker received the Kenneth J. Shouldice Professional Achievement Award from the LSSU Alumni Association in 2008. He receives the Lukenda School of Business distinguished alumnus award during an annual recognition dinner for graduating students that begins 6:30 p.m., Saturday, April 28, at the Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
